Bangkok Chinese New Year 2026

Celebrate the Year of the Horse in the heart of Yaowarat.

Yaowarat: The Epicenter of CNY in Bangkok

Bangkok's Chinatown, or Yaowarat, transforms into a sea of red and gold during Chinese New Year. In 2026, the celebrations will be more vibrant than ever, featuring spectacular dragon parades, acrobatic lion dances, and some of the best street food you'll ever taste.

The Main Parade

Usually taking place on the first day of the New Year, the parade along Yaowarat Road features members of the Royal Family and incredible cultural performances.

Temple Visits

Wat Mangkon Kamalawat (Wat Leng Noei Yi) is the most important Chinese-Buddhist temple in Bangkok for making merit and seeking blessings for the new year.

Evening Illuminations

As the sun sets, the red lanterns lighting up the entire length of Yaowarat Road create a magical, photogenic atmosphere.
